Join OTP for this exciting 3 days and 2 nights Adventure Trip in Crater Lake National Park and beyond. We’ll be adventuring in some of the most beautiful locations in the area. This multi-day adventure is organized and led by OTP.

Trip Features

Group Activities

  • Hike three different magnificent scenic trails at different parts of Crater Lake. Each trail has jaw dropping views of the lake at every turn

  • Enjoy a beautiful swimming spot down at Crater Lake and jump into the crystal clear water or relax on shore

  • Watch a spectacular sunset at Crater Lake from a scenic lookout

  • Drive the famous scenic highway around the rim of the lake and stop at impressive vista spots. We will view the lake from different sides of the crater.

  • Drive and hike to different unique Oregon waterfalls in the Crater Lake area 

  • Soak in hot springs with great views of the lush forest. These are natural hot springs

  • Enjoy paddleboarding/kayaking on a beautiful lake in the forest (not Crater Lake) and have lunch at picnic tables on the shore

  • Camp as a group and enjoy the OTP basecamp experience

  • Meet, connect, and share this experience with OTP people who have a passion for the outdoors​

OTP Basecamp: Camping/Hotels/Airbnbs

OTP BASECAMP

We will be camping in the forest. There will be tall trees and a camp area with plenty of flat & smooth spots for our tents and cars. The site plenty of parking. You can drive directly to your spot and set up (no backpacking or lugging gear). There are plenty of hammock spots. Note: This will be dispersed/primitive camping. This is a nice location, but you must bring your supplies, chair, table, water, food, etc. A bathroom/vaulted toilet is close to basecamp. 

 

HOTELS & AIRBNBS

People have the option to book their own lodging at an Airbnb or hotel if they prefer not to camp. This option will be a further drive to our activities at Crater Lake, the waterfalls, and the hot springs vs staying at the OTP basecamp. Note: These are not booked through OTP. You can message the trip led if you need help with what area in Oregon to book.

Level of Activities

  • All of the waterfall hikes are beginner level with the longest two trails being 1 mile long and others a quick walk from the car. The hikes around Crater Lake start as beginner Level with breathtaking views and then become intermediate. They are all out and back hikes. The longest is 3.7 miles to a scenic viewing spot overlooking the lake. All of the Crater Lake hikes have impressive views at every turn so you can hike whatever distance you like. We will be hiking on maintained trails and the pace will be easy going. The group will stay together and take breaks at alluring locations. 

 

  • The hike to the hot springs is intermediate. There is a short steep section on the hike.

 

  • Paddleboarding/kayaking on the forest lake (not Crater Lake) is open to all levels of paddlers.

 

  • The famous scenic highway around the rim of Crater Lake has windy turns at times.
