About the event

OTP is going back to Maui! This is an exciting 5 days and 4 nights OTP Hawaiian Island Maui Adventure Trip. We have been leading trips here since 2022 and experience the best places on the island.



OVERVIEW:

This multi-day adventure is organized and led by OTP. The itinerary, glamping & camping, and all of the adventurous activities are included in this trip. Carpool options for attendees will be discussed in the private group message thread.

GROUP ACTIVITIES INCLUDED IN TRIP

  • Glamping & camping at a beach estate

  • Enjoying stunning Maui beaches

  • Driving and exploring the world-famous Road to Hana & experiencing scenic locations along the drive

  • Road tripping around the entire island. This includes the remote northside and southside of the island

  • Hiking on top of Mt Haleakalā summit, around the crater, and observatory

  • Watching the sunset from the summit of Mt Haleakalā

  • Seeing sea turtles on the beach

  • Visiting a natural blowhole located on a lava shelf above a subterranean ocean cave. Water shoots up 100 feet high

  • Hiking 3.5 miles through a magnificent bamboo forest in Haleakala National Park

  • Swimming in a series of beautiful, naturally formed saltwater tide pools with blue water and black lava rock

  • Enjoying stunning views of tropical waterfalls

  • Cliff jumping, rope swinging, and swimming in natural pools on the Road to Hana (optional activities)

  • Eating at local food trucks and restaurants (you can also save money by prepping your own food at basecamp)

  • Relaxing in your hammock at the beach (bring your own hammock)

  • Enjoying free time on the island on your own or with fellow OTP people on the trip

  • Option for whale watching from a viewing point on shore

ACCOMODATIONS


GLAMPING OPTION:

Canvas tent cabins on raised platforms on the beach estate. Two people per tent cabin (we will pair you with a fellow attendee if you are joining solo). Each tent cabin has a private shower, two beds, a set of linens per person with fitted & flat sheet, pillow case, blanket, hand & bath towel, pillow, Adirondack chairs, dresser, interior solar lights, safe box, wooden chest, and small cooler. Also access to wifi, BBQ grills, picnic tables, beach access, gazebos, outdoor dishwashing station, and parking spots.


If you are coming solo, then you have an opportunity to connect with fellow OTP attendees before the trip to find a roommate. This will be available in the private group message thread.



CAMPING OPTION:

Camping on the beach estate. There are enclosed outdoor showers on the estate with open ceilings to view the sky & stars, wifi, BBQ grills, picnic tables, beach access, access to gazebos, outdoor dishwashing station, spots to hang hammocks to relax in the daytime, and parking spots.


*Attendees will need to bring their own camping gear if you are choosing the camping option. You can bring your gear in checked luggage.

Our locations and itinerary will be available the week of the event. It will be shared with attendees in the private group message thread. The itinerary will show all of our locations, schedule, and activities so you'll know exactly what to expect and where we'll be throughout the trip.

FOOD 

People can get dinner at local food trucks and restaurants during the trip. There will be restaurants, markets, and stores including Costco and Walmart on the island. People can purchase groceries at stores and prepare food at basecamp. The canvas tent cabins come with a cooler to chill your food. Ice can be purchased at basecamp.

LEVEL OF ACTIVITIES:

The activities on this trip are easy going in a variety of impressive places around the island. We will be hiking on maintained trails, relaxing and swimming at beaches, sightseeing around the island, and more. The pace will be easy going. The group will stay together and take frequent breaks at alluring locations. If you’re a fast hiker/walker and want to get ahead then that's okay. The longest trail is 3.5 miles round trip through a bamboo forest and you can hike as much or little of the trail as you want. The itinerary will have a schedule and all of our locations. If you want to do your own thing and meet up with the group later in the day then that's perfectly okay.

CARPOOLING 

Carpooling is available for all OTP Adventure Trips but not provided by OTP. It will be to connect with other attendees in the private OTP group message thread.

Attendees will be added to a private OTP group message thread on Messenger. All of our main communication about the trip will be shared there. It's also a place to connect with carpooling and sharing rooms. If you do not have Messenger than email us Info.OceanToPeak@gmail.com

You will receive a confirmation message from us within a few days after completing the steps below.

This waiver applies to all Ocean To Peak Adventures activities during the current calendar year, including Day Events, Classes, and Adventure Trips.

CANCELLATION:

Last date to cancel for a refund is February 21, by 1pm.

Credit is not given for cancellation after this date.

TRIP TIMES:

Attendees will be flying into Maui late morning and early afternoon on Thursday Feb 5. People will be checking in at basecamp after 3pm.


Basecamp finishes on Monday Feb 9th at 10am and everyone will say their goodbyes. People can continue relaxing and exploring more of the island throughout the day (self-guided).




NOT INCLUDED IN TRIP

Your flights, rental car, camping gear, food, & entry into Haleakalā National Park.




HALEAKALA NATIONAL PARK:

All vehicles are responsible for their own entry fee into the national park. Purchasing the America the Beautiful National Park pass is recommended and is good for all national parks in the USA for one year otherwise it's $30 per vehicle. If you are carpooling, then you can share costs.
