Josh Ochner is the founder and creator of Ocean To Peak Adventures and the OTP Mountain Summit Challenge. He has been one of the top climbers each year in the challenge.
On Sept 8, 2022 Josh made OTP history by completing all levels through Expert which required 9 Intermediates, 11 Advanced, and 5 Expert Summits. The MSC 2022 is considered the toughest challenge out of the series. By completing the Expert Level he became the first person to earn a spot on OTP Expert/Pro Mountain Summit Team.
On June 21, 2024 Josh became the first person in OTP history to complete an entire Mountain Summit Challenge. He skillfully completed three Experts that year: Thompson Peak, San Jacinto - Cactus to Clouds (hiking it in the hot month of June with 110 degrees temps), and Mt. Theilsen (Oregon).
MSC 2025: Completed 38 summits and 95 points, including 7 Advanced and 3 Experts. His Experts: Borah Peak (Idaho), Mt. Shasta, and Mt. Hood (Oregon) solo summiting The Old Chute route.
MSC 2024: Josh is the first person to complete an entire Mountain Summit Challenge. Completed 32 summits and 83 points, including 7 Advanced and 3 Experts. His Experts: Thompson Peak, Mt Theilsen (Oregon), and San Jacinto (Cactus to Clouds).
MSC 2023: Completed 23 summits including all 6 Advanced and 3 out of 4 Experts, ranking him as the top climber of the year. Josh's Experts were Mt. Hood, the highest peak in Oregon, Mt. Lyell, the highest peak in Yosemite National Park, and Shastina in Mt. Shasta.
MSC 2022: Completed 30 summits out of 32 and became the first person to earn a spot on the OTP Expert/Pro Mountain Summit Team on Sept 8, 2022. Josh was the top-ranking climber of the challenge this year. He summited Mt. Shasta (Elevation 14,179'), Split Mountain (14,064'), Matterhorn Peak, Redslate Peak, and San Jacinto (Cactus to Clouds) on the Expert Level. He also summited the highest peaks in three states on the West Coast High Peaks Level: Boundary Peak in Nevada, Kings Peak in Utah, and Borah Peak in Idaho, as well the second & third highest peaks in two states: Mt. Adams in Washington and White Mountain in California
