​​What does “select OTP Adventure Trips” mean?

“Select trips” refers to Adventure Trips that are eligible for team perks based on capacity, logistics, and overall suitability. Some trips, such as international travel, highly limited-capacity experiences, or specialty trips may not be eligible unless specifically stated.

What is an OTP Adventure Trip credit (Advanced Team)?

An OTP Adventure Trip credit is a one-time credit up to a defined value that can be applied toward the cost of an eligible OTP Adventure Trip.

• Valid for one year beginning on the day the Advanced Level is completed

• Non-transferable and not redeemable for cash

• Applicable to select OTP Adventure Trips

• Subject to availability and capacity

• May be applied toward a higher-cost trip, with any remaining balance paid by the participant​​

​This credit is designed to recognize achievement while supporting flexibility and sustainability as the OTP Community grows.

How many complimentary Adventure Trips can Expert/Pro Team members use?

Expert/Pro Team members may receive complimentary participation in up to two (2) eligible OTP Adventure Trips during the one-year period beginning on the day the challenge is completed.

• Complimentary participation applies to select OTP Adventure Trips only

• Subject to availability and capacity

• International, specialty, or highly limited-capacity trips are excluded unless otherwise specified
   

Complimentary participation reflects the highest level of achievement and trust within the Mountain Summit Challenge while maintaining fairness and long-term sustainability.

Can multiple Team members use perks on the same trip?

Yes, when capacity allows. However, all Adventure Trips have limited space. Availability is managed to ensure a safe, high-quality experience for everyone.

What happens if a trip fills up?

If a trip reaches capacity, Team members may apply their perk to a different eligible trip within the valid time window. Perks do not guarantee placement on a specific trip.

When does the one-year perk window begin?

The one-year window begins on the day the challenge level is officially completed, not at the Awards Event or end of the calendar year.

Can perks be carried over or extended?

Perks are designed to encourage timely participation and cannot be carried over beyond the one-year window unless explicitly approved by OTP under exceptional circumstances.

Are Team perks transferable to another person?

No. All Team perks are non-transferable and apply only to the individual who earned them.

Does earning a Team perk guarantee leadership opportunities?

Leadership opportunities, such as leading official OTP Mountain Summit hikes, are offered based on experience, safety considerations, and OTP needs. Completion of the challenge qualifies members for consideration but does not guarantee a leadership role.

Are Expert/Pro Team members considered guides or employees of OTP?

No. Expert/Pro Team members are recognized community leaders, not employees, contractors, or professional guides unless separately agreed upon in writing.
