About the event
Experience the wonder and beauty of Death Valley National Park in California with Ocean To Peak Adventures (OTP) on this exciting 4 days and 3 nights Adventure Trip.
This Adventure Trip is organized & led by OTP. This is our 6th year adventuring at Death Valley National Park. We know the best spots and timing to be there!
NOTE: This might be a great year to see DESERT WILDFLOWERS!

Camp as a group under a star-filled desert sky and watch the marvels of the night sky
Explore and hike through two of the most beautiful canyons in the park
Search for desert wildflowers
Admire and walk in the water of Lake Manly. A beautiful and large desert lake (at -282' feet elevation) below sea level. The lake only forms on rare occasions after heavy rains
Enjoy impressive and powerful views of Death Valley 's most unique locations
Explore the ancient sand dunes inside the park. We'll hike on the dunes, along ridges and sandboard/sled down the slopes
Enjoy silent meditation on top of the sand dunes and gaze deeply into the park’s beautiful desert scenes
Watch the sunset over the desert from spectacular locations
Drive Death Valley's most scenic roads
Hike around a vibrant, naturally colored canyon and hillside inside the park. Yes, the colored sand is real!
Stop at gift shops inside the park
Visit Death Valley’s Visitor Center
Opportunity to eat at restaurants, get ice cream at an ice cream shop, & walk around the shops
View and photograph Death Valley landscapes
Enjoy campfires in the evenings at basecamp (we welcome attendees to bring extra wood to contribute)

ACCOMODATIONS
BASECAMP/ CAMPING:
Camp under a star-filled desert sky
Drive into basecamp and easily set up your spot next to your vehicle. Note: We will not be driving on loose sand or on dunes
You can sleep in your vehicle, tent, RV or, trailer
Basecamp opens on Thursday 1pm and the trip finishes on Sunday 11am (you can arrive and depart on this trip at any time you like).
Note: We will stop at gas stations to fill up
Camping at the OTP basecamp is included in this trip. We will camp together as a group.
NOTE: This will be primitive/dispersed camping. There are no park services at our location. You will need to bring your own water, gear, and supplies. Attendees will not be using "nature's bathroom" out in the desert. There are vaulted bathrooms are 7 mins from basecamp and at the majority of places we will be visiting on this trip including the visitor center, restaurants, and gift shops. We will be visiting bathrooms each morning.
MOTEL & HOTEL ROOMS:
Motel/Inns & hotel rooms are available. This is an option for non-campers. Rooms are not included in this trip, and attendees will need to book their own rooms. Attendees will still need to complete all 4 steps to join this OTP Trip. If you want to book a room, make sure to contact us.

GPS COORDINATES & ITINERARY:
Our locations and itinerary will be available the week of the event. It will be shared with attendees in the private group message thread. The itinerary will show all of our locations, schedule, and activities so you'll know exactly what to expect and where we'll be throughout the trip.

FOOD
People can get dinner at local food trucks and restaurants during the trip. There will be restaurants, markets, and stores including Costco and Walmart on the island. People can purchase groceries at stores and prepare food at basecamp. The canvas tent cabins come with a cooler to chill your food. Ice can be purchased at basecamp.

LEVEL OF ACTIVITIES:
The activities will be easy to intermediate level. The trails are maintained and our pace will be easy going. The group will stay together and take breaks at alluring locations. Our longest hike is 4.5 miles through a canyon and it's okay if you don't hike the full distance. The scenery throughout the trip will be incredible regardless of how far you hike and it will be easy to find your way back. Sandboarding down the dunes is fun and we will be sitting on sleds.
Easy activities: You can eat at restaurants inside the park, get ice cream and treats at an ice cream shop, walk around the small town/shops, enjoy the visitor center, drive-up to the scenic lookouts, and more.

CARPOOLING
Carpooling is available for all OTP Adventure Trips but not provided by OTP. It will be easy to connect with other attendees in the private OTP group message thread.

Bring your own gear for all activities: camping, hiking, prepping your own food, sandboarding (boogie boards & plastic sleds are best. We will share boards with one another).

CANCELLATION:
Last date to cancel for a refund is March 13, by 1pm.
Credit is not given for cancellation after this date.

TRIP TIMES:
Basecamp opens on Friday 1pm. People will be setting up their camp areas at this time. We will leave basecamp at 3:30pm for our first group activity. All of the locations will be in the itinerary.
Basecamp finishes on Monday at 11am and everyone will say their goodbyes. People have the option of exploring more of the park throughout the day (self-guided).
Note: You can arrive and depart on this trip at any time you like.
NATIONAL PARK ENTRY:
All vehicles are responsible for their own entry pass into the park. You can purchase one when we get there or online beforehand. America the Beautiful Annual Pass is also valid inside the park.
